These cookies are lightly sweet, buttery, and infused with rosewater for a subtle floral aroma. You can shape them like roses or simply flavor traditional cookie dough with rose notes.
✅ Ingredients:
1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, softened
¾ cup (90 g) powdered sugar
2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
2 tbsp cornstarch (for a softer texture)
½ tsp baking powder
1 tbsp rosewater (or to taste — start small!)
1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
Pink food coloring (optional)
Dried rose petals or pistachio slivers for decoration (optional)

Cream butter and sugar
Beat the butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).
Add rosewater and optional vanilla
Mix in rosewater (and vanilla, if using). Add a tiny drop of pink food coloring if desired.
Sift and mix dry ingredients
In a separate bowl, sift flour, cornstarch, and baking powder. Gradually add to the wet mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms.
Chill
Wrap the dough and refrigerate for 30 minutes to make it easier to shape.
