🥙 Greek Chicken Gyros with Homemade Tzatziki
🍗 Ingredients for the Chicken Gyro:
1½ lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
3 tbsp plain Greek yogurt
3 tbsp olive oil
Juice of 1 lemon
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp red wine vinegar
1½ tsp dried oregano
1 tsp ground cumin (optional, for extra depth)
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
🥒 Homemade Tzatziki Sauce:
1 cup plain Greek yogurt
½ large cucumber, grated and squeezed dry
2 cloves garlic, finely minced
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1 tbsp chopped fresh dill (or 1 tsp dried)
Salt to taste
🫓 To Serve:
Warm pita or flatbread
Sliced red onion
Chopped tomatoes
Shredded lettuce or cucumber slices
Crumbled feta (optional)
