Recipe for Mett Rolls (4 servings)
Ingredients:
• 400 g fresh Mett (raw minced pork, preferably from a butcher)
• 4 rolls (e.g., Kaiser rolls or rustic rolls)
• 1 large onion (for onion rings)
• Salt and pepper to taste
• Optional: fresh parsley or chives (chopped)
• Optional: some mustard or butter for spreading on the rolls
Preparation:
1. Prepare the Mett:
• The Mett should be fresh, as it will be eaten raw. Make sure it's well chilled (preferably straight from the refrigerator). If the Mett isn't already seasoned, you can season it with a little salt and pepper. Some people also mix in some chopped parsley or chives for extra flavor.
2. Chop the onions:
• Peel the onion and slice it into thin rings. If you prefer a milder onion flavor, you can briefly soak it in cold water to reduce the spiciness.
3. Prepare the rolls:
• Cut the rolls open and optionally spread them with a little butter or mustard, depending on your taste. This isn't absolutely necessary, as the minced meat is already moist.
4. Spread the minced meat:
• Spread the minced meat evenly between the rolls. You can smooth it out with a spoon or knife. A portion of about 100 g of minced meat per roll is typical.
5. Garnish:
