Steak and Cheese Croissants

Steak and cheese croissants are a savory pastry that combine the rich, tender flavor of steak with melty cheese, all wrapped in a buttery, flaky croissant. They're perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a satisfying snack. Here's a simple recipe to make them:

Ingredients:
2 large croissants (preferably fresh or day-old)
1/2 lb (225g) beef steak (such as ribeye, sirloin, or flank steak), thinly sliced
1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or Swiss work well)
1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
1 small onion, thinly sliced (optional)
1 garlic clove, minced (optional)
Salt and pepper, to taste
A pinch of dried herbs (such as thyme or rosemary), optional
Dijon mustard or mayonnaise (optional)
Instructions:
Prepare the Steak:

Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Season the thinly sliced steak with salt, pepper, and any optional dried herbs.
Add the steak to the skillet and cook for about 2–3 minutes until browned and cooked through (if you like it medium-rare, adjust the cooking time).
Remove the steak from the pan and set aside.
Optional: Caramelize Onions (if using):

In the same skillet, add the thinly sliced onions (and garlic, if using).
Cook over medium heat for 5–7 minutes until softened and caramelized. Set aside.
Assemble the Croissants:
