• 1 onion, diced
• 1 red bell pepper, diced
• 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes or tomato sauce
• 2-3 tbsp tomato paste
• 1/2 cup beef broth (optional, for added flavor)
• 1 tsp dried oregano
• 1 tsp dried basil
• Salt and pepper to taste
• Olive oil for cooking
