1. Cook the Spaghetti:
• Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. Prepare the Sauce:
• In a large skillet or pan, heat a little olive oil over medium heat.
• Add the diced onion and red bell pepper, and cook until softened.
• Add the garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
3. Cook the Ground Beef:
• Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Break it up with a spatula as it cooks.
• Drain any excess fat.
4. Add the Tomatoes and Seasonings:
• Add the crushed tomatoes or tomato sauce, tomato paste, and beef broth (if using) to the skillet.
• Stir in the oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
• Let the sauce simmer for 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
5. Combine Spaghetti and Sauce:
• Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat evenly in the sauce.
6. Serve:
• Garnish with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!
