Homemade cheese is a culinary delight and a worthwhile project for anyone who wants to discover the art of cheesemaking for themselves. This recipe walks you through making an easy, creamy cream cheese that's ideal for snacks, spreads, or as a base for creative recipes.

Ingredients:

1 liter fresh whole milk
1/4 tablet of rennet (from specialist retailers)
2 tbsp natural yogurt (with live cultures)
1 tsp salt (to taste)
Accesories:

A big pot
A thermometer
A spoon for stirring
A knife
A cheesecloth or clean tea towel
A sieve or cheese mold
Preparation:

1. Heat milk:

Heat the fresh whole milk in a large pot. Use a thermometer to monitor the temperature. Slowly heat the milk to around 32-38 degrees Celsius.
2. Add rennet and yogurt:

Dissolve the rennet in a small container with a little water.
Add the dissolved rennet and the natural yogurt to the warmed milk.
Mix everything well and then remove the pot from the heat.
3. Let it rest:

Cover the pot with a lid and let the milk mixture rest in a warm place. Let it sit for about 4-6 hours to curdle the milk and form the curds.
