Pastry cream and chocolate rolls

Prepare the dough: In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add the lukewarm milk, softened butter, and egg. Mix well until a smooth paste forms. Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let it stand in a warm place for 1 hour.

Prepare the pastry cream: Bring the milk and vanilla to a boil in a saucepan. In another bowl, beat the egg yolks and sugar until the mixture turns white, then add the flour. Gradually add the hot milk while stirring. Return everything to the saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Let cool.

Prepare the chocolate filling: Melt the chocolate and butter in a double boiler or in the microwave.

Assembly: Roll out the dough into a rectangle on a floured surface. Spread the pastry cream over the entire surface and then drizzle with the melted chocolate.

Carefully roll the dough onto itself to form a long sausage. Cut slices about 2 cm thick and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
