How to Store Sugar: Tips and Tricks to Keep it Fresh For a Long Time
How to Store Garlic in The Freezer
Freezing garlic is an excellent way to preserve its freshness and flavor. By microwaving the cloves briefly and shaking them in a glass, peeling becomes easy and quick. Freezing in airtight bags prevents freezer burn and retains the garlic’s natural taste and aroma. Start by putting several cloves of garlic in the microwave for about 30 seconds. This softens the skin, making it easy to peel. Place the cloves in a glass, close the top with your hand, and shake vigorously to remove the skins. Once peeled, place the cloves in an airtight bag and freeze them. When you need to use the garlic, simply take out the required amount and allow it to thaw for a few minutes before cooking. This method keeps the garlic fresh for several months.
How to Store Garlic in Oil
Preserving garlic in olive oil not only extends its shelf life but also infuses the oil with a rich garlic flavor, perfect for cooking. Boiling the garlic cloves for a few minutes ensures they are sanitized and ready for preservation. Peel several cloves of garlic and boil them for 5 minutes to soften and sanitize. Place the boiled cloves in a glass jar and fill the jar with olive oil, ensuring the garlic is fully submerged. Store the jar in the refrigerator. This method keeps the garlic fresh for up to three months, and the garlic-infused oil can be used to add extra flavor to your dishes.
