Blueberries, I can grow them forever at home with this simple trick

Testing: Use a soil pH test kit regularly to check the pH and adjust it as needed.

Good drainage: The soil should be light and well-draining, but it should retain moisture. Blueberries hate “wet feet” (stagnant water).

In pots: Choose large pots (at least 40-50 cm deep and wide) with adequate drainage holes. Use soil specifically designed for acidic plants.

Sunlight: At least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day is essential for good yields.

Constant watering: Keep the soil moist, but never soggy. Blueberries have shallow roots and are sensitive to both lack and excess water. Water more frequently during hot, dry periods, preferably in the morning or late afternoon.

Targeted fertilization: Fertilize with organic matter and fertilizers specifically designed for plants that like acidity (such as those used for azaleas and hydrangeas). Avoid fertilizers containing calcium.

Mulch: A layer of straw, pine bark, or dry leaves around the base of the plant helps retain moisture, maintain soil acidity, control weeds, and protect surface roots.
Annual pruning: Prune dry, diseased, weak, or very dense branches at the end of winter. This will stimulate new branches and increase yield. By mastering propagation by cuttings and providing ideal growing conditions, you can enjoy freshly picked blueberries in your garden or balcony in Ternopil for many years!
