Preparation
Peel the onions and dice them together with the ham. Mix with the cream cheese and season with a little salt and plenty of pepper. You can also add a little Provençal herbs if desired.
Spread this mixture evenly on the rolled-out puff pastry. Now carefully roll the dough and cut into approximately 3 cm thick slices. Place the slices on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
Place in a preheated oven at 180°C (convection oven) for approximately 10 minutes – longer or shorter depending on the desired degree of browning.
We often serve these little delicacies hot or cold for brunch on Sundays. The rolls are also great to take to any party. You can always customize the topping to your liking.
The combination of creamy topping, spring onions, and spicy ham creates the typical tarte flambée flavor, which is perfectly enhanced by the golden-brown crust. And the best part: You can customize the topping to your liking – for example, vegetarian with feta and spinach or sweet with goat cheese and honey.
