Homemade Soup Seasoning
Homemade soup seasoning is a wonderful alternative to store-bought broths and spice blends. Not only does it add a fresh, individual touch, but it also allows you to use whatever herbs and vegetables you have on hand.
Ingredients:
1 celery stalk
For a hearty, spicy base.
2 leeks
Adds a mild oniony note.
4 medium onions
For added depth and flavor.
1 bunch parsley
For freshness and a herby aroma.
1 bunch chives
Adds a light oniony note.
1 bunch garlic chives
For a garlicky flavor.
1/2 garlic bulb
For intense garlicky aromas.
1 bunch herbs of your choice
Whatever the garden is currently producing (e.g., thyme, rosemary, tarragon).
Salt to taste
Approximately 10g of salt per 100g of vegetables to preserve the mixture.
