No-Bake Honey Almond Nougat Bars
This recipe provides a delicious nougat experience without the need for an oven or candy thermometer. It’s soft, sweet, and full of nuts.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup (4 ounces) unsalted butter
1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
1/2 cup (120 ml) honey
1/4 cup (60 ml) water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups (300 g) powdered milk (whole is best for creaminess)
2 cups (8 ounces) coarsely chopped toasted almonds (or a mixture of almonds and pistachios)

Equipment:
8 x 8-inch pan
Parchment paper
Large saucepan
Heatproof spatula or wooden spoon
Instructions:

Prepare the pan: Line an 8 x 8-inch pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides to make it easier to remove the nougat.
Mix the wet ingredients: In a large saucepan, combine the butter, granulated sugar, honey, and water. Melt and cook over low heat: Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the butter is melted and the sugar is completely dissolved. Bring the mixture to a simmer over low heat and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, without stirring. It should thicken slightly and turn a light golden color.
