Preheat Oven:
Set your oven to 350ΒΊF (175ΒΊC).
Line a large rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil.
Place the oven rack in the lowest position.
Prepare the Ham:
If needed, shave a thin layer off the bottom of the ham to stabilize it and keep it from tipping.
Make the Glaze:
In a small bowl, whisk together Dijon mustard, honey, cardamom, cinnamon, garlic powder, and onion powder until fully combined.
Assemble:
Place the ham on the prepared baking sheet (or in a slow cooker).
Gently insert apple slices between the layers of ham, spacing them evenly and alternating directions for a nice pattern.
Brush the mustard-honey glaze all over the surface of the ham.
Bake (Oven Method):
Bake for 1 hour.
Baste the ham with the pan juices.
Bake for an additional 1 hour, or until the glaze is caramelized and the edges begin to crisp.
OR
Slow Cooker Method:
Cover and cook on low for 4β5 hours or on high for 2β3 hours.
Serve:
Baste again with any remaining juices before serving.
Slice, serve hot, and enjoy the blend of savory ham with sweet apple and spiced glaze!
