Simple minced beef gravy – no frills!

Heat oil or butter in a large pan over medium heat.

Add onions and cook for 3–5 minutes until soft and just starting to color.

Add the minced beef, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until browned all over (5–7 minutes).

Sprinkle the flour over the beef and stir well. Cook for 1–2 minutes to get rid of the raw flour taste.

Gradually pour in the beef stock, stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Bring to a simmer.

Reduce the heat and let it simmer gently for 15–20 minutes, until thickened.

Season with salt and pepper (and a dash of Worcestershire sauce if using).
