🥩 Classic Beef Bourguignon (Boeuf Bourguignon)
What it is:
Slow-cooked beef in red wine with bacon, onions, mushrooms, and herbs. Deep, velvety, and unforgettable.
🛒 Ingredients (serves 4–6):
2.5 lbs (1.2 kg) beef chuck, cut into large cubes
Salt & black pepper
2 tbsp flour
4 oz (120g) bacon, diced
1 large onion, chopped
2 carrots, sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp tomato paste
2 cups red wine (preferably Burgundy or Pinot Noir)
2 cups beef stock
1 bay leaf
1 tsp thyme (dried or a few fresh sprigs)
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
8 oz (225g) mushrooms, halved
12 pearl onions (optional)
