the crunchy potato snack. Simple. Addictive. The kind of thing you accidentally eat an entire bowl of without even realizing. Let’s do a version that hits that perfect combo of crispy, golden, salty, and snacky — something between chips and fries, but homemade and extra satisfying.
Think: crispy potato spirals, thin wedges, or smashed bites — totally snackable, golden, and seasoned just right.
🔪 Option 1: Crispy Smashed Potatoes
Ingredients:
Baby potatoes (or small red/yellow potatoes)
Olive oil or melted butter
Salt
Pepper
Garlic powder
Paprika or chili flakes (optional)
Fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme, or parsley for finishing)
Instructions:
Boil the potatoes in salted water until fork-tender (10–15 min).
Drain and let them dry out for a few mins (dry = crispy!).
Place on a baking tray, then gently smash each potato with the bottom of a glass or fork — flatten but don’t break apart.
Drizzle with olive oil/butter, and season generously.
Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 25–35 min until crispy and golden brown.
Optional: Sprinkle with grated parmesan + herbs before serving.
🌀 Option 2: Crispy Potato Spirals or Ribbons (aka Ribbon Fries)
