1/4 cup water
1/2 cup vodka
1/4 cup heavy cream
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Ice cubes
Fresh strawberries for garnish
Directions
1. In a small saucepan, combine the sliced strawberries, sugar, and water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries are soft and the sugar is dissolved, about 5 minutes.
2. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool. Once cooled, strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve to remove the strawberry solids.
3. In a cocktail shaker, combine the strawberry syrup, vodka, heavy cream, and lemon juice. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously until well chilled.
4. Strain the cocktail into two glasses filled with ice.
5. Garnish with fresh strawberries and serve immediately.
Variations & Tips
For a lighter version, substitute the heavy cream with coconut milk or almond milk. If you prefer a non-alcoholic version, replace the vodka with sparkling water or club soda for a refreshing mocktail. You can also experiment with adding a splash of vanilla extract for an extra layer of flavor. For a fun twist, try using flavored vodkas like vanilla or citrus to enhance the drink's complexity.
