Step 1: Make the meat mixture
Mix the ingredients:

Place the ground meat in a bowl. Add the finely chopped onion, garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, milk, and dried herbs. Season with salt and pepper.

Mix everything well until you have a smooth mixture. If adding cheese, mix it into the meat mixture as well.

Form the meatballs:

Use your hands to form small meatballs from the mixture. Make sure they are all roughly the same size so they cook evenly.

Step 2: Wrap the meatballs in bacon
Wrap the meatballs in bacon:

Take a slice of bacon and wrap it tightly around a meatball. Make sure the bacon is securely wrapped so it doesn't come off during cooking. If desired, you can secure the bacon with a toothpick to prevent it from slipping.

Step 3: Fry the meatballs
Heat the pan:

Heat a tablespoon of oil or butter in a large pan over medium heat.

Fry the meatballs:

Carefully place the meatballs in the pan and brown them on all sides. Turn them regularly to ensure the bacon is nice and crispy and the meatballs are cooked through. This will take about 8-10 minutes, depending on the size of the meatballs.

Step 4: Serve the meatballs
Serve warm:

Remove the meatballs from the pan and drain on a plate lined with paper towels. Serve the meatballs immediately warm with your favorite dipping sauce, such as barbecue sauce, spicy mustard, or creamy garlic sauce.

Variations:
Herb Meatballs: Add additional spices like paprika, cumin, or chili to the meatballs for an extra kick.

Cheese in the Center: You can also stuff a piece of cheese into the center of each meatball for a surprising, melted filling.

Oven Bake: If you don't want to fry the bacon in a pan, you can also bake the meatballs in the oven. Place them on a baking sheet and bake in an oven preheated to 180°C for 15–20 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.

Tips:
Bacon: For best results, choose thin slices of bacon. Slices that are too thick will be harder to wrap around the meatballs and may not crisp up properly.

Preparation: Ensure the meatballs are cooked thoroughly. You can check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer (beef should be at least 70°C).

Dips: These meatballs are delicious with a variety of dips. Try sweet chili sauce, BBQ sauce, or a fresh yogurt dip.

Bacon-wrapped meatballs are a great treat for parties, get-togethers, or as a dinner appetizer. They're delicious, easy to prepare, and absolutely irresistible!
