In a large resealable plastic bag, combine 1 cup of the flour, sugar, and yeast. Add the warm water and seal the bag tightly.
Mix contents of the bag by squishing with your hands until well blended. Let it rest for 10 minutes to allow the yeast to activate.
After 10 minutes, open the bag and add 1 more cup of the flour, along with the olive oil and salt. Seal the bag again and mix thoroughly by kneading the bag with your hands.
Add the remaining 1 cup of flour to the bag, seal it, and continue kneading until the dough is evenly mixed and smooth.
Remove the dough from the bag and place it on a lightly floured surface. Knead for another 5-10 minutes until the dough is elastic and smooth.
Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan. Cover it with a clean towel and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, or until it has doubled in size.
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Bake the loaf in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
Variations & Tips
For picky eaters, you can add some shredded cheese or a few tablespoons of honey to the dough before the final kneading for a different flavor. You can also sprinkle some sesame seeds or poppy seeds on top of the loaf before baking to add a crunchy texture. If you prefer whole wheat bread, you can substitute half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour.
