2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon salt
Directions
In a medium bowl, whisk together the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard until well combined.
Add the minced garlic, chopped rosemary, chopped thyme, black pepper, and salt to the mixture. Stir until all ingredients are thoroughly incorporated.
Place your choice of steak in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag.
Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is evenly coated. If using a plastic bag, seal it and gently massage the marinade into the meat.
Refrigerate the steak for at least 2 hours, or overnight for a more intense flavor.
Remove the steak from the refrigerator about 30 minutes before cooking to allow it to come to room temperature.
Grill or pan-sear the steak to your desired level of doneness, then let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
Variations & Tips
For a sweeter marinade, add a tablespoon of honey or brown sugar. If you prefer a bit of heat, include a pinch of red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce. For a more herbaceous flavor, increase the amount of fresh herbs or experiment with others like oregano or basil. This marinade also works well with other proteins such as chicken or pork, offering versatility for different meals.
