Double Cheeseburger & Caramelized Onions 🍔

1️⃣ Caramelize the onions: Peel and finely slice the onions. Heat the oil and half the butter in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the onions with a pinch of salt and cook for about 25 minutes, stirring regularly, until golden brown and caramelized. Set aside.
2️⃣ Prepare the steaks: Divide the ground beef into 8 small balls and flatten them slightly. Generously salt and pepper each steak.
3️⃣ Cooking the steaks: Heat a large skillet or cast iron griddle over high heat with the remaining butter. Sear the steaks for 2 to 3 minutes on each side until they have a nice crust. Immediately place a slice of cheddar on each steak and let it melt.
4️⃣ Toast the buns: Lightly grill the inside of the burger buns in the still-hot pan.
5️⃣ Assemble the burgers: Place a cheese steak on the base of each bun, add a second steak, then cover with a generous portion of caramelized onions. Close with the top bun.
6️⃣ Enjoy immediately with homemade fries or a fresh salad! 😋
