Chop the onion and garlic.
Heat the olive oil in a pan and sauté the onion and garlic.
Add the minced beef and brown it.
Season with salt and pepper.
Mash the boiled potatoes and add them to the minced meat.
Add the egg, breadcrumbs and half of the grated cheese.
Mix thoroughly.
Assemble the meat roll:
Spread the minced meat and potato mixture on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, in the shape of a rectangle.
Sprinkle with the remaining grated cheese.
Carefully roll up the meat roll, starting from the long side.
Brush the top with olive oil.
Baking:
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Bake the meat roll in the oven for approx. 40-50 minutes until cooked through.
Serving:
Cut the meat roll into slices and serve with the mashed potatoes.
Tips and variations:
You can also add other vegetables to the filling, such as mushrooms, peppers or zucchini.
You can also serve the meat roll with brown sauce or mushroom sauce.
Instead of the mashed potatoes, you can also prepare other side dishes, such as rice or pasta.
