1 kg broccoli (fresh or frozen)
100 g oat flakes
1 tbsp oil
1 tsp salt
200 g grated cheese (we use Gouda)
This is how the broccoli cheese balls are prepared
First, wash your broccoli and cut it into individual florets.
Then put it in a pot, cover it with a little water and bring it to the boil.
Let the broccoli simmer with the lid closed for about 4 minutes and then drain it. Put the broccoli in a bowl and chop it roughly with a hand blender or mixer.
Next, add the oat flakes, oil, cheese and salt. You can add other spices as you like - fresh herbs, a little grated nutmeg or pepper also work wonderfully.
Now form small balls from the broccoli and cheese mixture and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
Preheat the oven to 160°C top and bottom heat and bake the broccoli and cheese balls for about 30 minutes.
Enjoy!
