Delicious mini apple pies, perfect for delighting your guests with the irresistible taste of apple and cinnamon, wrapped in a buttery and crispy crust!
🛒 Ingredients:
For the pastry:
200g flour
100g cold butter, cut into cubes
50g powdered sugar
1 egg
Grated zest of 1 lemon (optional)
A pinch of salt
For the filling:
2 apples (preferably red currants)
Juice of half a lemon
50g brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Powdered sugar for decoration (optional)
👩🍳 Preparation:
1. Prepare the pastry:
Sift flour and salt into a large bowl. Add the cold butter and rub in with your fingers until a sandy mixture forms.
Add the powdered sugar and grated lemon zest (if using) and mix well.
Add the egg and quickly knead into a smooth dough. Do not over-knead to prevent elasticity.
Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
2. Prepare the filling:
Peel and core the apples, then slice them thinly.
In a bowl, mix the apple slices with lemon juice, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Make sure the apples are well coated.
3. Assemble and bake the mini apple pies:
Preheat the oven to 180°C and line a muffin tin with paper baking cups.
Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface and cut out circles slightly larger than the muffin cups.
Carefully press the dough circles into the tins, making sure the edges are snug.
Fill each tart with the apple filling.
Optional: Decorate the tarts with strips of pastry or a small knob of butter.
Bake the tarts in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown and the apples are soft.
4. Serve:
Let the tarts cool in the muffin tin for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
For an extra festive look, sprinkle the tarts with powdered sugar.
🎉 Enjoy!
These mini apple tarts are perfect for any time of day. Serve them with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra special treat. 🍏✨
