Preparing the dough
For the dough, dissolve the yeast and sugar in lukewarm water in a bowl.
Then add the other ingredients and obtain an earlobe-shaped paste.
Let it ferment for half an hour in a warm place.
Mix all the ingredients for the poppy seed mixture thoroughly in a bowl.
Then divide the dough into four equal parts and roll one out with a rolling pin.
Place it on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and brush it with poppy seeds.
Lay out the remaining sheets of dough, brush them with poppy seeds and place them on top of each other.
There will be no poppy seeds on top.
Then place a glass of water in the middle, as shown in the picture.
First divide the dough into 4 equal parts, then divide each part into 4 and fold it 3 times.
Brush it with egg yolk and bake it in the oven at 200 degrees until it turns golden brown.
Sprinkle with sesame seeds if you like, I just sprinkle them in the middle, it is always elegant for presentation. Serve after cooling. Enjoy your food.
