Cute sugar dough donuts – a sweet treat for special moments

1️⃣ Mix the dough: Mix the flour, sugar, vanilla sugar, dry yeast and salt in a large bowl. Make a well in the middle, add the milk, eggs and butter and knead into a smooth dough.

2️⃣ Let the dough rest: Knead the dough well on a floured surface for about 10 minutes. Then place it in a bowl, cover with a kitchen towel and let it rest in a warm place for about 1 hour until it has doubled in volume.

3️⃣ Cut out donuts: Knead the dough again and roll it out to about 1 cm thickness. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to form donuts and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Leave to rest for another 20 minutes.

4️⃣ Fry: Heat oil in a large pan. Carefully place the donuts in the hot oil and fry until golden brown on both sides. Then drain on kitchen paper.

5️⃣ Decorate: Dust the donuts with powdered sugar or decorate with melted chocolate and colorful sprinkles if desired.

6️⃣ Serve: Arrange on a beautiful plate and enjoy fresh.
