Introduction
If you're craving something crispy, golden, and delicious, but want to skip the store-bought fries, this homemade potato recipe is the perfect solution! These potatoes are better than fries in every way—crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside, and packed with flavor. They're quick to make and can be customized to suit any meal. Whether you're serving them as a side dish or enjoying them as a snack, they are sure to be a hit at the table.

Ingredients:

4 medium-sized potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet work best)
2 tablespoons olive oil (or melted butter for extra richness)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika (or regular paprika)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh herbs (optional: rosemary, thyme, or parsley)
Parmesan cheese (optional, for extra flavor)
Directions:

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
Wash and peel the potatoes if you prefer, or leave the skin on for added texture and nutrients.
Cut the potatoes into wedges or slices, about 1/2-inch thick, ensuring they’re all similar in size for even cooking.
Toss the potatoes in a large bowl with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Ensure all pieces are coated evenly.
Arrange the potatoes in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they’re not overcrowded (this helps them crisp up nicely).
Roast in the oven for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy on the edges.
Optional step: Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese or fresh herbs like rosemary or parsley during the last few minutes of baking for extra flavor.
