Preheat the oven to 180°C or th. 6.

Peel and finely slice the onions.

Heat the olive oil in a saucepan over high heat.

When the olive oil is hot, place the sliced onions in the saucepan and cook for 3 minutes or until translucent.

Then add the ground beef and continue cooking for about 10 minutes, stirring well.

Add salt and pepper to taste.

Once the ground meat is cooked, add the coulis and tomato paste as well as the paprika powder to the saucepan, reduce the heat to low and cook for a few more minutes, stirring frequently.

Then remove the pan from the heat and set aside.

Bring a large volume of water to the boil in a second pan over high heat.

As soon as it boils, plunge the cannelloni into the boiling water and cook for 1 to 2 minutes or until al dente.

When cooked, drain the cannelloni in a colander and set aside.

Butter an ovenproof dish. Stuff the drained cannelloni with the meat mixture, using a teaspoon, then place them next to each other in the bottom of the dish.

Pour the tomato sauce over the cannelloni in the dish, then sprinkle with grated Gruyère cheese.

Place the dish in the preheated oven and cook for about 25 minutes or until the grated Gruyère cheese on the surface is golden brown.

Serve these Sicilian cannelloni hot on plates. Enjoy this pasta dish immediately accompanied by a seasoned green salad.
