Instructions:

1. Sausage Preparation:
Remove sausage casings and slice sausage.
In a large, deep skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sausage slices and cook for about 4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
2. Gnocchi Cooking:
In the same skillet, add uncooked gnocchi, heavy cream, and chicken broth.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium. Cover and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes, until gnocchi are tender and sauce is smooth.
3. Squash and Herbs Add:
Add butternut squash puree and minced garlic. Bring sauce back to a boil, then reduce heat to low.
Continue cooking for about 3 minutes or more, until the gnocchi are cooked through and the sauce has thickened to your liking.
4. Seasoning:
Remove from the heat, add half the sage and half the thyme. Season with salt and ground black pepper to taste.
Tip: Taste before adding salt, as the sausage may be salty enough.
5. Plating:
Serve piping hot, garnishing with the remaining sage and fresh thyme for a touch of fresh aroma.
