Your oven hood filter is a greasy mess. Effortlessly get it clean like new again

Soaking: Place your filter in the solution, making sure it's completely covered. Let it soak for at least 30 minutes, but particularly dirty filters may benefit from longer soaking times, even up to a few hours.
Scrubbing: After soaking, use a soft brush or non-abrasive scrubber to gently clean the filter, paying special attention to the nooks and crannies where most of the grease accumulates.
Rinse thoroughly: Rinse the filter under hot running water to remove any grease and cleaning solution residue. Make sure the water runs clear, indicating a thorough cleaning.
Drying: Shake off any excess water and allow the filter to dry completely. You can either let it air dry or pat it dry with a clean towel.
Reinstall: Once dry, carefully place the filter back into the range hood. Make sure it is properly secured.
Method 3: Steam cleaning
For those who don't mind a more hands-on approach, using a steam cleaner can be another effective method to clean your range hood's filter. Steam cleaning uses hot steam to loosen and break down grease, allowing for a thorough clean, but this method can be a bit dirtier than the soaking method. Here's how to use a steam cleaner on your filter:
Safety first: Before you start, make sure your steam cleaner is in good working order and you're wearing protective gloves to avoid burns from the hot steam.
Prepare your area: Since this method can be dirtier, prepare your cleaning area by placing towels or newspapers under the work area to catch any drips or grease.
Steam cleaning: Turn on your steam cleaner and wait for it to heat up. When it's ready, direct the steam at the filter and slowly move it over its surface. The steam will loosen and melt the grease, which can then be wiped away with a cloth or sponge.
Wipe down: After steam cleaning, wipe away the loosened grease and dirt with a damp cloth or sponge. You may need to rinse the cloth or sponge frequently to ensure you don't spread the grease around.

Rinse and dry: Rinse the filter thoroughly under running water to remove any remaining cleaning solution or grease. Shake off the excess water and allow the filter to air dry completely before reinstalling.
