Directions:
Spray slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray. Place chicken (frozen, thawed, or fresh) inside slow cooker. Stir together brown sugar, vinegar, club soda, garlic, soy sauce, and pepper. Pour over chicken. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4 hours.
Remove the chicken pieces from the slow cooker (mine practically fell apart) and pour the remaining sauce into the pot. Place the pot over high heat. Combine the cornstarch and water, pour into the pot and stir well. Let the sauce boil for 2-3 minutes, or until it begins to thicken and turn into a glaze. Remove from the heat and let sit for a minute or two (the sauce will continue to thicken as it cools).

Sprinkle red pepper flakes on top if desired. You can serve this over rice or noodles. I also like it with a baked potato on the side (it’s also good on the potato!)
