Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey, if you prefer)
1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably seasoned)
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup ketchup (for mixing, plus extra for topping)
1 large egg
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, ketchup, and egg. Use your hands or a spoon to mix everything together until well combined. The mixture should be moist but firm.
Shape the meat mixture into a loaf shape and place it in a greased baking dish or on a lined baking sheet.
Spread a thin layer of ketchup over the top of the meatloaf. This creates a delicious glaze while it bakes.
Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the meatloaf is cooked through (an internal temperature of 160°F or 71°C).
Remove from the oven and let the meatloaf rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.
