Quick Recipe: How to Make Layered Taco Salad
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef or turkey
1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade)
1 head iceberg or romaine lettuce, shredded
1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican cheese blend
1 large avocado, diced
1 cup sour cream
1 cup tortilla chips, crushed
Fresh cilantro for garnish
Lime wedges for serving
Instructions:
Cook the Meat:

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or turkey until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess fat, then stir in the taco seasoning along with a bit of water (as per the seasoning packet instructions) to evenly coat the meat. Let it simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Prepare the Layers:

In a large trifle dish or clear serving bowl, begin layering the ingredients. Start with the shredded lettuce as the base layer. Next, add the black beans, followed by the seasoned ground meat.
Add the Remaining Layers:

After the meat, add a layer of halved cherry tomatoes, followed by shredded cheese. Then, add the diced avocado and a layer of sour cream.
Top with Crunchy Tortilla Chips:

Sprinkle crushed tortilla chips on top of the salad for a satisfying crunch.
