Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8x8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
Mix Wet Ingredients:
In another bowl, combine the applesauce, melted coconut oil, vanilla extract, and non-dairy milk. Mix until smooth.
Combine:
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. If you're using chocolate chips or nuts, fold them in at this stage.
Bake:
Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
