Guava leaves are rich in antioxidants, antibacterial compounds, and nutrients that offer numerous health benefits. Making guava leaf powder at home is a great way to preserve their benefits and use them for teas, skincare, and various remedies. Here’s a simple step-by-step guide to making your own guava leaves powder.

Ingredients:
Fresh guava leaves

Tools:
A dehydrator or oven (optional: air drying method)

Blender or grinder

Fine mesh strainer

Airtight container for storage

Instructions:
1. Harvest Fresh Guava Leaves:
Pick fresh guava leaves from a healthy, pesticide-free tree. Look for leaves that are vibrant green and free from spots or damage.

2. Clean the Leaves:
Rinse the guava leaves under cool running water to remove any dirt, dust, or insects. Pat them dry with a clean towel or leave them to air dry for a bit.

3. Dry the Guava Leaves:
You have a few options for drying the leaves, depending on the tools you have at home:

Using a Dehydrator:

Place the washed guava leaves on the dehydrator trays in a single layer.

Set the dehydrator to 110-120°F (43-49°C) and let them dry for about 4-6 hours, or until completely crisp.

Using an Oven:

Preheat your oven to its lowest temperature (around 150°F or 65°C).

Lay the guava leaves on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake for 2-4 hours, flipping the leaves occasionally until they are completely dry and brittle.
