Colorful cake: the recipe for the delicious and spectacular dessert with cocoa and vanilla

The colorful cake is a soft and delicious sideboard dessert, a variation of the marble cake and the two-tone doughnut. To make it, three circles of cocoa dough are spread in a mold and interspersed with two more circles of vanilla dough, which gives a very spectacular effect when cut. Perfect for breakfast, accompanied by a caffe latte, or as a snack, alone or spread with hazelnut cream, it will delight adults and children alike.
Ingredients
For the basic dough:

180 gr 00 flour
70 gr potato starch
3 eggs at room temperature
150 gr powdered sugar
120 gr soft butter
110 gr Greek yogurt
16 gr Backpulver
1 teaspoon vanilla extract or essence
For the cocoa dough:

18 gr bitter cocoa
20 ml Greek yogurt
You need them too:

Butter for the mold
Flour for the mold
Quick and easy to prepare: just mix the softened butter with sugar, vanilla extract, eggs, 00 flour, starch, and sifted yeast, then add white yogurt and bitter cocoa to half of the mixture. All you have to do is put it in two piping bags, form concentric circles with alternating colors in a 22 cm diameter cake tin well dusted with butter and flour, then mix them lightly with a wooden toothpick.

Cooking it in a static oven allows us to obtain a soft and fragrant dessert that, once removed from the mold, is left to rest for an hour and then enjoyed in all its splendor even at the end of the meal, accompanied by a cup of espresso or a small glass of liqueur chocolate.

To obtain an impeccable result, remember to leave the butter and eggs out of the fridge for at least 2 hours before proceeding with the recipe: the former must be soft and creamy, while the latter, at room temperature, integrate better with the rest of the ingredients.

If you want, you can customize the dessert and make it even more delicious with a little dark chocolate or chopped dried fruit. You can also flavor it with the grated peel of an organic lemon or orange or replace the vanilla with a vial of almond essence; if it is not intended for children, you can add a spoonful of rum, cognac or any other fragrant liquor of your choice.

If there is anything left over, it can be stored for a maximum of 3 days at room temperature, under a cake tin or wrapped in cling film.
