Ingredients
2 cups granulated sugar
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
4 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon fine salt
1 3/4 cups whole milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature and cut into small pieces
1/2 cup vegetable shortening, room temperature and cut into small pieces
