Cleaning your mattress with dishwashing liquid
Pour 10 drops of dishwashing liquid into 1 liter of very hot water. Dip a washcloth in the liquid and scrub the entire surface of the mattress, wringing it out well each time so as not to soak it. Rinse the washcloth regularly. Rub the mattress with dry terry towels and let it air dry.

Clean your mattress with white vinegar (or household alcohol)

Mix 1 glass of white vinegar with 3 glasses of hot water and rub the mattress with this liquid. Then rinse with a damp cloth. Finally, rub with a dry cloth to remove as much moisture as possible and let it air dry. Do the same with household alcohol, which most often has the advantage of being scented.

Clean your mattress with ammonia
For really heavily stained surfaces, try ammonia but only work in a ventilated room and wear gloves, a mask and protective glasses, because it is extremely volatile and toxic. Pour ½ glass of ammonia into 1 liter of hot water, then rub the stains with this mixture. Once all the stains have been treated, you can clean the mattress with one of the other methods used above.

How to remove bad odors from a mattress
Smells of perspiration or cleaning product, the result is not pleasant. Sprinkle the entire surface of the mattress with baking soda (which has a sanitizing power) and leave it to act for 5-6 hours before removing as much as possible with a clean dustpan and broom. Finish by vacuuming thoroughly. You can also use talcum powder which has the advantage of leaving a sweet odor but without sanitizing.
We spend between 6 and 8 hours a day there, and inevitably, we can have small inconveniences like spilling a cup of coffee or having a sick child. A good cleaning and off we go again with a mattress like new! It's your turn

Before staining, remember to protect the mattress
Of course, you never sleep on a mattress without first protecting it with a thick mattress protector and a fitted sheet, both of which are essential for good hygiene, because you can wash them as often as you want, while the mattress itself is more difficult to put in the washing machine... Some mattresses have a removable cover, so you shouldn't deprive yourself of washing the cover once a year.

Removing a urine stain on a mattress
The ideal is to act immediately, by rinsing the stain with lukewarm water and then dabbing for a long time with absorbent paper until all the moisture has been removed. If the stain has already soaked into the mattress, dab it with a cloth soaked in household alcohol, then absorb the surface with dry terry towels and finish with a hair dryer.

Removing a blood stain from a mattress
If it is fresh, you can remove a blood stain by dabbing with a cloth dampened with cold water until the blood is diluted, then absorb as much as possible with dry cloths. If the blood has already started to dry, dab with a washcloth soaked in white vinegar then rinse with a cloth soaked in cold water, finally absorb as much as possible before letting it dry or speeding up the process with a hair dryer.

Removing a sweat stain from a mattress

Removing a sweat stain from a mattress
Sweat leaves a dark yellow ring on textiles, which is better to remove gradually rather than waiting until it is completely embedded, in which case, the fabric will be so dirty that any treatment will become useless. Sprinkle the stain generously with baking soda then rub the surface with a lemon cut in half, the important thing is that the stain is covered with a damp paste. Renew the lemon as soon as it has no more juice. Leave to act for at least 1 hour, then rub with a dry cloth, collect the baking soda before vacuuming and let dry in the open air.

Be careful, perspiration is often confused with sebum, and in the latter case, it is better to remove as much grease as possible before removing the stain, spread Sommières earth generously, leave to act for 2 hours, before removing it with a small brush then vacuum.

Remove a vomit stain from a mattress
Act immediately, because vomit is very acidic and embeds itself in the fabric, collect as much material as possible with absorbent paper, then rub the surface with a washcloth soaked in warm water and wrung out. Wipe as much as possible with dry cloths, then rub the stains if there are any remaining with a cloth soaked in household alcohol. Rub, dry, and repeat until the fabric is completely detached.
