Whenever I make this copycat dish, my husband just can't get enough!

Start by patting the fish fillets dry with a paper towel and seasoning them with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Set up a breading station: place the flour in one bowl, the beaten eggs in another, and the breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
Dip each fillet first in the flour, then the eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs. Ensure each piece is evenly covered.
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the breaded fillets.
Fry each fillet for about 3-4 minutes per side or until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
While the fish is frying, lightly toast the hamburger buns in a separate skillet or under a broiler.
To assemble, place a slice of American cheese on the bottom half of each bun, add the crispy fish fillet, and spread a generous amount of tartar sauce on the top bun.
Serve immediately with your favorite sides.
Variations & Tips
For a healthier version, try baking the breaded fish fillets in a preheated oven at 400°F for about 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through. If your family prefers a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the breading mixture. For picky eaters, you can offer the fish fillets as fish sticks and let everyone build their own sandwiches with their preferred toppings.
