4 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 lemon (juiced and zested)
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Directions
1. Season the fish fillets with salt and pepper on both sides.
2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
3. Add the fish fillets to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork. Remove the fish from the skillet and set aside.
4. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the unsalted butter.
5. Once the butter has melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
6. Stir in the lemon juice and zest, allowing the mixture to simmer for 2-3 minutes.
7. Return the fish fillets to the skillet, spooning the lemon butter sauce over the top.
8. Sprinkle the chopped fresh parsley over the fish before serving.
Variations & Tips
For a different flavor profile, you can add capers to the lemon butter sauce for a briny kick. If you prefer a bit of heat, a pinch of red pepper flakes can be added when sautéing the garlic. For a heartier meal, you can coat the fish fillets in a thin layer of flour before cooking, which will give them a slightly crispy texture. Remember, the choice of fish can also change the dish – try experimenting with different types like salmon or snapper to find your favorite.
