I'm not big on cooking, to be honest, but this dish is a family classic – always hits the spot!

1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
Pinch of salt
Directions
1. Place the sliced bananas in the bottom of your slow cooker.
2. In a bowl, mix together the brown sugar, melted butter, dark rum, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
3. Pour the mixture over the bananas, ensuring they are evenly coated.
4. Set your slow cooker to low and cook for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
5. Once done, gently stir to distribute the sauce before serving.
Variations & Tips
For a boozy kick, you can add a bit more rum or even try it with a flavored liqueur such as banana or caramel. If you prefer a non-alcoholic version, simply omit the rum and add a splash of orange juice for a citrusy note. For a nutty twist, toss in some chopped pecans or walnuts during the last 30 minutes of cooking. To make it a tad more indulgent, consider topping it with whipped cream or a drizzle of chocolate sauce.
