So saucy and tasty! My hubby only requests this dish these days!

12 chicken drumsticks, skin removed
1 cup honey
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for a kick)
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 cup cold water
Directions
1. Arrange drumsticks in a slow cooker.
2. In a mixing bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, ketchup, garlic, basil, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Mix well.
3. Pour the sauce over the drumsticks in the slow cooker. Turn the drumsticks to coat evenly with the sauce.
4. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours, until the chicken is tender and well-cooked.
5. Transfer the drumsticks to a serving platter. Skim the fat from the surface of the sauce in the slow cooker.
6. Blend cornstarch with cold water, and stir into the sauce. Cook on high for about 10 to 15 minutes, or until thickened.
7. Pour the thickened sauce over the drumsticks or serve it on the side for dipping.
Variations & Tips
For a smokey flavor, add a teaspoon of smoked paprika to your sauce mix. If you're looking to sweeten things up, try replacing the honey with maple syrup. And for those who like it extra sticky and rich, add a dollop of molasses to the sauce mixture. Each tweak brings its own little hint of tradition and adventure, just like the stories passed down through our kitchens.
